Denton Area Soccer League

Frequently Asked Questions

Which national soccer organization sanctions your leagues and tournaments?

US Club Soccer, a member of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).  US Club Soccer also sanctions the Super Development League (SDL) and PrimeTime Sports.  USSF is the soccer's governing body in the United States.  Other members of USSF include US Youth Soccer, which sanctions the North Texas State Soccer Association (NTSSA).  The NTSSA sanctions the Premiere Academy League (PAL) and local recreational associations in Denton, Lake Dallas, Lewisville, and Flower Mound.  Our league sanctioning is pending the approval of US Club Soccer.

Where are your games played?

Recreational league games will be played at Game On Athletics, which is in south Denton at the corner of Teasley Lane and Old Alton Road, across from Denton Guyer High School.

When are your games played?

Recreational league games will be played on Saturdays, starting February 19th.

What are your rules on recreational player registration and team formation?

Players will register online and be placed on a team based on which school they attend.  Players who are not enrolled in school will be placed on teams based on their address.  Players may request to play with another player or with a specific team or coach.  We will do our best to honor these requests.  The intent of this policy is to allow players to play with their friends and/or family, not to form "Super" teams.  For more specific information about registration and team formation, click on the "Registration" at the top of this page.

How are you different from associations like the Denton Soccer Association or Lake Cities Soccer Association?

DSA and LCSA are sanctioned through the North Texas State Soccer Association (NTSSA).  They have different team formation rules.  Our playing rules are similar, but we will provide you with better service and more skill development opportunities for the players.

What is the difference between Recreational and Academy?

Although both skill divisions are focused on player development, recreational is for beginner players or experienced players not ready competitive play.  In the Recreational league, score will not be kept and all players will receive a trophy at the end of the season.
