Resources:  Over 350,000 items including books, atlases, maps, manuscripts, pamphlets, pictures, photographs and microfilm relating to the history of Michigan, the Great Lakes, and the Northwest Territory going back to the 1600's and including New England and New France.  Transcribed and published cemetery readings.  Family, local, and county histories and genealogies include genealogical materials for all U.S. and Canada.  State and federal census records on microfilm.  Detroit city directories (1837 - present) and telephone directories for Michigan towns (1878 - present).  DAR and military records including Civil War Soldier's records.

Resources: Over 1,100 books and many Washtenaw and Livingston County sources such as local history, land records, cemetery readings, family histories, Bible records, the microfiche index of Washtenaw County probates, how-to and guide books, bibliographies, and periodicals.  The library maintains a surname file of Washtenaw County residents, an index to research correspondence, and a collection of Bible records (not limited to Michigan).  The collection is housed at the LDS Family History Center in Saline (see below).

Resources:  The Abrams Foundation Historical Collection is the tenth largest collection of genealogical information in the U.S.  Manuscripts, diaries, newspapers, books, microfilm relating to Michigan history.  Michigan newspapers on microfilm.  Michigan maps and atlases.  Federal land patent records on microfilm.  State census records.  Federal census for states east of Iowa; 1790 - 1920.  Canada census, 1860 - 1911.  U.S. city directories.  Over 200,000 family histories.  Military records to World War I.  Michigan vital records and indexes; births 1867 - 1915, death 1867 - 1914, divorces 1867 - 1947, marriages 1867 - 1920.
